As my one and only post on the war in Iraq, I'd like to say that the scenes from yesterday settled in my mind the issue of whether actually going to war was the right thing to do. It's not a question of being able to justify it based on the prescence of chemical, or other, weapons of mass destruction, it's about doing the right thing. If a building is on fire and there are people inside, you don't stop to consider the feelings of the fire, you put it out. Now I'm pretty sure that wasn't foremost on Dubya's mind when he started this whole thing (I'm almost certain he was thinking "Oil, lovely oil!"), but it is at least a nice side effect. Is it possible to do the right thing by accident?

That's it, I'll be quiet now.

Our sales guy got fired the other day, and since then our MD has been hyperactive, doing his own job (i.e. nothing) and the sales guy's job (supposed to be sales, but more often than not nothing) with the kind of zeal only the truly insane can achieve. I'm a little bit worried my own slack nature and lack of work ethic will be noticed.

/me types feverishly in the hope that this will be construed as work.
