That Friday feeling

Yes, it's Friday, folks. That one day of the working week where suddenly everything doesn't seem quite so bad, because there's a weekend ahead, and it's full of possibilities. Personally, I'll be glad to get to 5:30 without a phonecall from my favourite customer. That is my sole aim for today. I shall just keep testing his shopping cart, I think. If he's getting regular notifications that I'm doing something, that should keep him happy.

Another aim for today is to finally pick out my birthday present. I want a new soundcard. It has to work flawlessly with linux, be suitable for ordinary daily use, and have a breakout box with 5mm inputs, so I can plug my guitar/microphone in there. If anyone out there has any recommendations, let me know. I'm not going for anything that I don't 100% know will work, so please don't bother pointing me at anything you're not sure of. I've been bitten by that one before.

On another note, it's now only a week until I get to see Eddie Izzard at the MEN. Yay! :)

Become financially stable (HA!)
Achieve a measure of self-respect (HA!)
Send my book to a metric assload of publishers and convince one of them to publish it. (HA!)
Write another couple (HA!)
And, if I'm entirely honest, get laid (ROFL!)

Program Z80 assembly (competently)
Design electronic devices (so that they work)
Write in such a way that people are inspired to pay me megabucks
Read Latin properly (don't ask, ok, I just fancy it)
Ride a motorcycle

4. List five things you'd do if you won the lottery (no limit).
Quit my job
Invest the bulk of the money in a high interest savings account that would pay interest yearly
Buy a mint condition 1978 Pontiac Trans Am
Buy a flat overlooking Central Park (in New York, not in Wigan)
Spend a year on a world cruise.

5. List five things you do that help you relax.
Read
Watch Buffy :)
Play the guitar and sing (lumping those together seems appropriate)
Chat inanely on IRC and various IMs
Light a few candles and some incense, turn on my lava lamp and veg out.
