Plan for today

Just in case I forget anything, here's my list of stuff I need to do today:

• Pack up broken access point and send it back


• Post Dave's disks


• If the new access point comes, set it up


• If the power adaptor comes, plug Alderney in and get her recharged (I couldn't wait, I bought one from Miller Bros. and sawed the ridiculous circular guard off)


• Sell more stuff on ebay


• Get a new printer cartridge


• Do Random's sigil


• TIDY!


• WASH UP!


• HOOVER!


• Change the sheets on the bed and wash the old ones


• More washing


• Get stuff ready for going to Felixstowe on Monday

Woooohoooo!

We have connectivity! Yes, folks, you heard it here first. Alderney has made her first successful venture onto the internet. The destination was #afp, where no-one was remotely impressed. Tch, anyone would think they were all uber-geeks or something... oh... right...

Anyway, suffice it to say, I'm a happy chappy. If nothing else it's a proof of concept. It means that when I get the access point, I should just be able to switch to the ethernet driver and watch it go. One minor issue though, it seems I might have to run a DNS server on orinoco to allow alderney to see the 'net, or otherwise provide some sort of IP forwarding, which I'm not quite sure about yet. Connections to proxies on orinoco are working fine, but nothing in the wider interweb is accessible just yet. I'm sure I'll suss it out.
