Oh the pain...

I should know better than to blithely attempt to reinstall linux and trust that nothing will go wrong. So far I've had problems with X (fixed), problems with wine trying to kill other packages (fixed, apparently even in *that* form windows is vicious and stupid), and I'm now attempting to make sure everything else I need is working. Once I've made sure I've then got to spend an hour or so setting up postfix to my satisfaction. This will require mysql, smtpauth libs, spamassassin, amavisd, f-prot, courier-pop and a lot of patience. I'm bound to get something wrong first time round. Still, once it's done this will be a lot nicer to use. Spam filtering should Just Work for a start, something which has been distinctly hit and miss up to now.
