Emo

Apparently I quite like emo/indie music. I was not previously aware of this and only discovered it due to a conversation with Harper in #afp. My usual method of finding new music to listen to normally involves hearing something on the radio, or on the telly, making note of a couple of lines which seem descriptive of the song and googling for the title. By this dubious method I discovered Five For Fighting, Train and American Hi-Fi. I'd had songs by bands like Something Corporate and Alkaline Trio for months and now, suddenly, today, I discover they're "emo". Well, that's nice, isn't it? I thought they were just sort of angsty, punky rock, but no, apparently there's a word for that sort of thing these days. Kids, eh?

On another note entirely, and out of a desire to not post too many incidental things in one day, tonight I shall be cleaning my kitchen. Mark my words. It will be clean. It may even end up *clean*, or possibly **clean**, depending on how enthusiastic I get. The policy, as of now, will be one job per night. Tonight I'll actually be doing two, but that's only because I'm down to having two pairs of Randompants in my underwear drawer and I really don't think they'd suit me (or fit me, for that matter).

I'm also going to try this 100 words for 100 days thing, as mentioned by [livejournal.com profile] pickwick. Not sure how well it will mesh with the writing projects I've currently got on the go. I intend to put the results up here (or possibly on affordable-wombles), but this will mean writing several verses of poetry and publishing them in isolation, I suspect. Not quite sure about that. It's not so much that I *want* to put this stuff up here, it's more that I need to have some form of check that I've actually done the 100 words. Proving it by putting them up here is about the only way I can think of doing it.

Well, that's that done. My first 100 words are up on [livejournal.com profile] hundredwords. Just a drabble, nothing fancy, but it's 100 words, and tomorrow, I'll do another 100. Yay!
