Roll on half past fifteen
The church clocks in the area where I work are strange. Instead of doing the sensible thing and actually telling you the time, they chime three times for every hour. So, I arrived this morning at what, by all evidence, was 27 o'clock. That sort of thing just doesn't amuse. I don't like to be baffled at that hour of the morning. "ok, 7, 8, 9... 10... eh? 11, 12, 13... 13?? *meep*!"
Today, I'll be mostly working hard, honest. In between times, I may fiddle with my blog some more. I'm tempted to make all the text content pages bloggable, if only to save myself the hassle of manually editing the HTML. This will also mean that they are all commentable. Would people like to be able to comment directly on short stories and the like? It means editing the database (which I've actually already done, to make it easier to extend), and a lot of cutting and pasting from both the blogging scripts and the picture scripts. Probably no more than an hour's work.
Managed to keep my 100 words for 100 days on track last night too. Was halfway through watching Flash Gordon when I remembered. Ended up doing over 200 words, which I'm quite pleased with. Trouble is, so far I've only written one-offs, which, while gratifying, aren't really useful. Who wants 200 word stories (except Warren Ellis, as noted by
ruthi, and, incidentally, as contacted by me, re my story of last night)? I think I'll start a new short story tonight. A proper one. 100 (or more) words of what will eventually be around 1500-2000 words. Just need a good idea.
