Finally got around to setting up the wireless keyboard and mouse I got for Christmas. It rocks muchly, and is a fetching red and black affair at least as eye-catching as a kingfisher (which is a very eye catching bird indeed). It also has buttons for which you are supposed to install some godawful windows excuse for an application. Bugger that, say I! Hotkeys, xev and a little persistence later and I've got a fully functional multimedia keyboard. Groovy. The only thing I've thus far failed to tackle is the scroll wheel on the keyboard, which is overkill anyway, really. It seems to want to pretend it's a button, however it's the same button whether you're going up or down, which I suspect is going to cause some confusion. Ho hum. I have no wires, this is good. Oh, the receiver thingy looks like a cross between a lava lamp, one of those big spaceships from independence day and a crazy strobe light. It's funky, but kind of distracting. There's a scary blue glow from under my monitor shelf.

Right, now that I've done that and put my Christmas decorations away, I think it's time to get something to eat, for I am, as they say round here, totally klempt. I could eat a scabby dog. T'ra.
