I've had a fantastic couple of days. Monday started badly. I went to the hospital for a specialist dermatology appointment and was given exactly what I didn't want, gunky ointments to use instead of soap and the nastiest shampoo you've ever seen. I hate these things. Don't doctors understand that when I have a shower I actually would like to come out of it cleaner than when I went in? *sigh*
Anyway, the day went down a notch when I got to Livi's and found that financial nightmarishness had happened. Due to bank charges and some missing paperwork she was going to be without money until the end of the month. This meant no trip to Lancaster and a very, very depressed Livi. Inside of 15 minutes it had all turned around because a chance phonecall to the bank to discuss her credit card payments turned into the offer of a loan which would not only clear all existing debts and give her a nice cushion, but would also cost less than the payments she was making before. This was duly accepted and confirmed, payments were made to deal with the immediate debt and money was made available in her account within the hour. Consequently depressed became grinning and bouncy and we were off to Lancaster.
We dropped Trisha off with her grandparents and went to stay at the Lancaster House Hotel, which was fantastic. Today we have been around Lancaster (the castle, priory, ppint's bookshop), and up to Heysham, Morecambe, Milnthorpe, Holme... We had a great time. We picked Suzanne up at the train station and went for a nice meal at an Indian restaurant and finally back to chez Livi and then home.
I'm very happy and very sleepy, so I think it's time for bed.
