Back from a very pleasant CCDE. More importantly, as of junction 6 of the M6, my car had only 2 people in it. By the cruel and evil method of farming out younglings to unsuspecting, innocent (hah!) friends, we've bought ourselves some peace and quiet. This means that, until Wednesday evening, I will *know* for certain where all the remote controls are, I will not find random items in either the kitchen or bathroom, I stand a fair chance of being able to wander around the house without having to step over piles of questionable contents and origin (except my own, as yet unpacked, stuff), and I won't have to cope with the inevitable taxi/money/"can I go out?" requests that begin with "Do you love me?...". Bliss.
CCDE was great, though we were there entirely for the socialising. It was wonderful to know that there was absolutely nothing required and that if I wanted a beer at 11am, I could damn well have a beer at 11am! Caught up with a lot of people I hadn't seen in a while and introduced various people to various others. Magic. CCDE is a vastly different experience when you know about 1 person in 3 and the odds of you being able to get from your tent to the bar/toilet/stalls without bumping into at least 5 of them are next to nil.
