Another very, very late post I'm afraid. I need to get myself back in sync with the world at large. Anyway, this one is a shameless plug for my book, which is now for sale by Amazon and WH Smith. The URL for it at Smith's is:
http://www.whsmith.co.uk/whs/go.asp?ISBN=1847534392&DB=220&Menu=Books
I have no idea if they'll stock it in store (I kind of doubt it without sufficient reason to), but you can order it online now. The Amazon URL is:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sir-Parsley-Dragon-Other-Stories/dp/1847534392/ref=sr_1_1/203-4086656-2988741?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1183243876&sr=1-1
I'm a bit blown away to be honest. I just did a hopeful search this evening and there it was.
This might sound odd, but if you are going to buy a copy, and while I'm aware it's not really in the right genre for most of you (but maybe your offspring?), I'd suggest buying it from WH Smith, and if you're close to one of their stores (and who isn't these days?) get it delivered there. Basically it means you'll just pay the price of the actual book. Lulu themselves charge an arm and a leg for delivery, as will practically anyone I suppose, but getting it delivered to a bookshop will a) make it cheaper for you, and b) get it to pass through an actual bookshop, which I hope will be better for me.
I'm also informed by my dutiful wife that www.thebookplace.co.uk has it too. Their shipping looks cheaper than elsewhere.
Oh, and in summary: WOO!
[edit] Apparently Waterstones also have it. It seems releasing books is a bit like releasing software. Once they're in the wild, they get everywhere! It's somewhat alarming to think that my book is out there now, and I couldn't take it back if I tried...
[another edit] Just found somewhere cheaper to get it. www.bookdepository.co.uk have it with free delivery. I'm kind of keen to get it in actual bookshops, which I guess means getting it into WH Smith and Waterstones through convincing them with online sales that it's worth stocking in store, but for online shops, this place looks to be the cheapest. I might actually have a browse around here myself for a bit. Looks like they've got a lot of stuff and they're not greedy about postage.
