Another weekend over...

Some day I'll learn to make use of the things properly. I totally wasted today by helping my Dad set up windows 98 on a computer he's inherited from somewhere. The damn thing kept insisting that we were dialing from the USA when we set up the modem. I told him he should let me set up linux on there, but he wasn't having it. Sorted it in the end, but there was some bad language.

On the home front this machine is now the dog's twitcher, not that it wasn't before, but it had Mandrake weighing it down some. Cron is my new best friend. I'm not entirely certain but I think I've got it scheduling just about everything remotely important that this box does.

I'm just having a Buffy moment, as I am wont to do. Season 5 episode 7, "Fool For Love", a cracker. Spike dispensing wisdom in his quirky, violent, and oddly perceptive, way. I love it when that happens.

I'm still convinced there's a beastie of some sort in this place, but it seems fairly benign. More out of the corner of the eye stuff, but nothing actually moving or saying hi. I'm content to let it be. I think that's a fair summary of the random thoughts that just passed through my head. I'm off to watch my DVD properly.
