My course materials have arrived! Woo! A burly bloke delivered them about 8:15 this morning. I feel almost studenty again! Hurrah!
I haven't gone through them yet, but that'll be foremost on my mind when I get home tonight. I doubt I'll be able to do much with it until tomorrow though. You know how drinking binges are. I just hope I can force myself to do it right and not perform the ritual self-sabotage that's become all too common. Also, I think I need a pen name, any suggestions?
Now I've just got to wait for the other stuff I've ordered to arrive. I ordered a belt with studs a few days ago, and a set of fangs some time before that. The belt is for general use (I couldn't resist it. I've wanted one for years. It's my inner punk getting restless :p), the fangs are for Halloween and Boxing Day, but may well get used to randomly scare the b'jesus out of people :).
I was going to book a ticket for CCDE last night too, but I forgot. I was introduced to this concept by lurkin' Dave. I think it will be rather nice to spend the weekend in the company of like minded people. I wouldn't call myself a "true" Pratchett fan, but I have several books (including a signed one, I tried to stop him, but he overpowered me) and am rather fond. I would love to write something of novel-length in that sort of style. A lot of my short stories already turn out rather similar. The last one featured a poker game, God and Satan, and an irritating cleaning lady. I've no idea where that came from. Anyway, to return to the point, I shall endeavour to buy myself a ticket at some point today. I also intend to lurk on the fringes of afp. If I learn enough in jokes, maybe I can pass myself off as a Pratchett nerd :).
