Meetings are a good way to use up a morning. I went straight from home to see a client, and only got into the office at lunch time. I thoroughly approve of that idea. The less time I have to spend here, bored out of my mind, the better. The client I went to see is one of the cooler ones. He knows what he's doing and he knows that we know what we're doing, and he just sort of lets us get on with it. He's also not stingy with his cash. You wouldn't believe the number of companies out there who are still of the opinion that it should be possible to get a professional website for less than a grand. Thing is, they think nothing of handing over a shitload of money for a one page advert, or a crappy printed brochure.
The problem I have now is that I've got to schedule my time between this new project and the myriad other ones I'm already doing. Joy.
Are there any jobs where you can just sit in a little office and code all day without actually having to come into contact with customers or cow-orkers at all? That would be cool. I could cope with that. I suspect that's not how it would work though, unfortunately. I work with computers because I don't like people, why does no one understand that? It's ok when they're moderately normal, or at least like-minded, but all too often they're just morons. I don't know how that works. There are loads of normal people on here (well, there are loads of weirdos as well, but they're generally quite nice too), why aren't there normal people out here in the real world? Why are they all irritating gobshites?
Ooh! My T shirt order has been processed! w00t! I hope they come out well. The guy sent me an email saying my womble wasn't big enough (cheeky bastard), so I sent him a bigger one. I don't think 2 custom printed T-shirts for £30 is too bad really.
