Wireless!

My access point appears to have been delivered while I was in the shower this morning. Apparently the old lady across the way has it. This is very cool. Just need to get the wavelan card and a NIC from here, and we're in business :)

Stupidly tried to fiddle with my firewall via ssh. Needless to say I made a pig's ear of it and locked myself and everyone else out of the machine. What I hadn't counted on was the fact that I seemed to have irretrievably buggered the eth0 interface. The damn thing just would not come back up. So, goodbye three-figure uptime... :(

As a sidenote, it's amazing how nervous you can get about turning a machine off if you only do it every 105 days...
