I am awake, honest. Not sure how much sleep I've had in the last 72 hours or so, but I'm fairly certain I could count it without having to remove more than one sock. Fun was had though. Went fencing with Trish on Saturday. My first dabblings did not go terribly well. I got my ass handed to me by an 11 year old boy. Picked up a bit after that though. I think I actually won the last one, though that was probably down to throwing caution to the wind and actually attempting to attack my opponent. I'll get the hang of it. Trish enjoyed it and wants to do more, so that's good. After fencing we went round to my Mum's and Trish managed to wangle baby pictures out of my mother while I disappeared upstairs to avoid the giggling. Thank you, mother...
Sunday started at stupid o'clock and featured offroading. We went to North Wales with Pol and Supermouse, and did what is apparently technically "greenlaning", whereby you're actually driving on public rights of way that are part of the road system, but don't feature things like tarmac, for example. So lots of mud, and one short trip up a riverbed. All good fun. Came back, ate a fantastic Sunday roast, assisted with homework including setting up vnc to avoid Sue having to sit in the freezing cold down by the kitchen to get work done, watched a film, and provided cuddles as required. There is now a box suitable for firewall use in the house, which I'll set up at some point soon. Once that's in, all sorts of interesting options will be available, which should make that little network a lot more useful. I'm thinking samba for cross-platform networking and printer sharing for a start. I really need to set aside some time to get all the machines there up and running properly. Let's face it, that's what I was supposed to be doing several months ago...
