A couple of weeks ago it was noted that I'd lost a fairly significant amount of weight. Since then I've lost a further 10lbs, entirely by accident. The only thing I can put this down to is the fact I've not had to use my asthma inhalers for about two months. Nothing else has changed in that time. I will be absolutely bloody livid if this continues and there is a definite link, especially after years of having doctors tell me it couldn't possibly be the drugs...
The other interesting fact is that, far from being necessary to control my asthma, the drugs I was using so often seem now to be almost entirely unneeded. I stopped using them so often because I was running out and knew I wouldn't be able to get more for a few days. This meant I put up with very minor attacks, which I knew would pass without intervention, but which I'd always been told to take the inhalers for. Having not used the inhalers seemed to lead to not *needing* the inhalers. I'm beginning to wonder if it was the drugs themselves my body was reacting to and craving, and not external stimuli. If I discover that ventolin is addictive and causes withdrawal symptoms following frequent use, I may have to smack someone into next week. I know I haven't used it in about 2 months, and now I have absolutely no desire to. We even got rabbits a few days ago, something that would normally be guaranteed to turn me into a wheezy mess, and nothing...
