Going reasonably well

orinoco77After a couple of false starts and a trip to my Dad's to use his windows machine to authenticate my gp32 with the gamepark website and get the free launcher thingy I think I'm doing ok with the gp32. I've got the speccy emulator on, and that runs smashing. I've also tried the snes emulator but that currently runs like a dog, an extremely slow dog, with a limp. It also doesn't run Mario Kart, which is a terrible shame. I expect both of these issues to be resolved in time though.
I'm having a little trouble with the linux gplink program. It doesn't like large files for some reason. I've had a look at the code, but I can't see any glaring errors. This is annoying as it makes it difficult to transfer mp3s and stuff. I've also had some problems with those, but I don't know whether that's to do with the mp3s themselves or the fact that they might not have transferred properly. On balance it might be easier to just invest in a smart media reader/writer.
On the whole I'm pretty pleased with it. It's not very useful to me at the moment, because of the above restrictions, but it's a cool little thing and hopefully I'll be able to surmount all the obstacles and have a groovy time with it.
