Network guy: It looks like we'll have to upgrade to the enterprise version.

Me: Make it so!

Today Romusoft announced their new product - SneakOffice v1.2.

Any requests for an enterprise solution will result in the product self-destructing to prevent valuable data falling into Microsoft enemy hands.

Actually, they tend to be based on the amount of time I think the customer is going to add to the project by being a pain in the arse. Since the last few projects I've worked on have been "here, we got this crap developed by a third party, make it work", I also tend to allow a little time for that tiny bit of code I found that looks remotely sensible suddenly turning to complete crap when I realise what it actually does.

I'm really, really fed up of projects I don't get to spec myself. Business Analysts are the bane of my life. Third party suppliers only slightly less so. I don't think there's more than a line or two of original code in the last two projects I've been "finishing off". What there is is mostly presentation. Le sigh...
